You’re a Homo – Parody of Gaga’s Alejandro by Sherry Vine

Parodies of Lady Gaga‘s Alejandro are numerous but “You’re a Homo” presented by misssherryvine is one of the only Gaga parodies I’ve seen that is politically charged and takes on closeted politicians. It was just sent to me by a friend who quickly spots these things. Sherry Vine sings the songs title “You’re a Homo” flanked by photos of four prominent republican politicians, Independent Governor Charlie Christ of Florida, Republican Congressman David Dreier of California, Former Republican Senator Larry Craig from Idaho, and Republican Congressman Aaron Schock of Illinois. Fight Ignorance… Get Off Your Ass and Do Something about Health Care

For me Health Care Reform is in fact more of a hot button issue than Gay Rights. I know that many of my fellow gay friends may disagree with me. But, in fact, if I had to choose between having a solid health care reform bill and passing legislation to make gay marriage legal, I would choose Health Care reform.

Beauty pageants like Miss USA, etc. should require each and every one of their contestants to do a test of their IQ. It’s really quite shocking that Miss California referred to marriage between a man and a woman as “opposite marriage”.

Thank You Sean Penn and Thank You Academy.

This year’s Oscar ceremony was very different from the usual. I was glad that they skipped all of the cynical humor that usually comes with this evening. Given the current worldwide situation, jabs at Hollywood, any political administration or even banks would have been out of order. As always The Oscars are meant to take us back to the glamour and glitz of old Hollywood. They’re supposed to take us back to that Hollywood that really doesn’t exist any more and possibly never really did, except in people’s fantasies. The Swarovski crystals, the blue design, and the backdrop were truly fabulous and did evoke that Hollywood fantasy for me. And given our current situation, what’s wrong with fantasizing?
