This is the second of 3 posts dedicated to our recent trip to the San Francisco Bay Area. The first post showed off our first 2 days in the city. On Saturday, we rented a car and got out of the city. First stop. Muir Woods.

Apologies to anyone we know in the San Francisco Bay area that we didn’t get in touch with ahead of our stay. We spent most of our time either with Adi’s conference colleagues, his family, or just the two of us. We had a great time and enjoyed a couple of days in the city itself, a day in Muir Woods and Napa, and a day with his Aunty in areas south of the city. We were very lucky with weather, experiencing mostly cool sunshine. The day north of the city was a bit cold.

I’ve been obsession with the iPhone app called Hipstamatic, which is one of many apps (Instagram, Picplz) capitalizing on the retro photography trend made even more popular through Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr sharing of photos.

This St. Martin trip was one of the few trips I’ve done ZERO research for. Except for making sure that we were choosing a place to stay that we all agreed on, I didn’t check any Web sites ahead of time to determine the best restaurants, beaches, anything. Thankfully, Adi did quite a bit of research so we experienced all the best beaches. Getting away to such a different atmosphere did me a lot of good, even if it was only for 5 nights. I certainly could have stayed there longer and done even more relaxing and eating great French food. We stayed at the Westin Dawn Beach Resort on the Dutch side, bordering the French side. The rooms, beach, and pool were all lovely. Were we to go to St. Martin again, we would stay on the French side, mainly because of the food. Also, we loved the beaches we experienced there. Here are the photos from our trip presented in an Animoto Video (lower resolution photos but fun) and a Flickr Slideshow (higher resolutions photos): Continue reading

Honeymoon Island Beach in Dunedin Florida is one of my favorite beaches in the world because we can freely take our Romi swimming there. The last time I visited my mom, we took him on 3 different occasions. This is a photo and video montage including Adi and my lovely niece Nicole. Enjoy Romeo In The Sun!

I hope you’ve read “Dubai – The Old, The New, and The Trip in Rants“. It’s meant to accompany these photos. If you haven’t, do so NOW. If you have, you have some choices. You can view simple slideshows on flickr, watch the Animoto video, or do both. Of course, I encourage doing both.

Let’s just start off by saying that OLD in Dubai means 1980′s! Truthfully though Wikipedia states that written accounts document existence of the city for at least 150 years prior to when the U.A.E. was formed. So, yes, there are some old things there but I’m sure a lot of what I captured isn’t the oldest.
