At 4 months, our little pup is doing just find with socialization. Here he is having fun with 80 other dacshunds that gather once a month to cavort, smell, and be dachshunds. New York Dachshund Meetup organizer Kari is terrific and the Animal Haven venue in Soho is perfect, except for the location for me. Enjoy. You can also see him at his second dachshund meetup in April.

Here he is – our pride and joy – at his 3rd official weekend playdate at the dog run. We’re at the under 25-lb dog run at 72nd and Riverside. He’s getting more and more comfortable with each time he goes out as everyone said he would. Adi worried a little bit about if he was getting hurt when other dogs nipped at him but we assured him this is normal and that they’re just playing. Romeo got a few of his tackles and nips in as well. We met some friendly people. People are so much friendlier when they’ve got their dogs around.

Here Romeo is less than 3 months old. It’s one of his first times outside but on our terrace. I’ve always been irritated by dog owners’ tendencies toward baby talk but Romeo has caused me to fall victim to what I never thought I would. I experimented a bit with video annotation in this video as well as the next one. That was fun. Enjoy and turn the volume down if you can’t stand my baby talk!

Most of you have heard by now about the new love of our life. Romeo is the miniature silver-dapple dachshund that has been keeping us busy since the 12th of January. He’s grown by 4 pounds and doubled his length since we first got him as you’ll be able to see from the photographs in Romeo’s slideshow. He’s a bundle of energy and has brought so much joy… and more joy to our lives.
