I like to have a quick reference of screenshots of major media on momentous occasions and the first time a president of the U.S endorses same-sex marriage is such an occasion.
A friend of mine sent me these great videos of Cheyenne Jackson. One is the prep for his photo shoot for Out magazine and the other is him talking about being a budding TV star and being an out actor. Both are shot on Fire Island. I love the fact that he’s on Glee, 30 Rock, and Curb Your Enthusiasm all at the same time.
Now it’s not just gays, lesbians, and non-hating Americans who are angry about Target’s donating $150,000 to hate-mongering politicians.
Target has given $150k to Tom Emmer, a Minnesota Republican who has made multiple appearances with and supported “Christian Rock Group” You Can Run but You Cannot Hide. Scroll to the bottom of this post to sign a petition to get Target to STOP.
Every time you feel it’s safe to “go back in the water”, the “jaws of bigotry” remind us that we’ve got a ways to go. I’m referring specifically to an incident that happened last night at a local fast food restaurant near my mother’s home in Clearwater, FL. But the truth is that this incident could have happened anywhere in this country and many others. Even in NY where we feel we’re somewhat protected from old-fashion hate, you still hear of isolated incidents.
For me Health Care Reform is in fact more of a hot button issue than Gay Rights. I know that many of my fellow gay friends may disagree with me. But, in fact, if I had to choose between having a solid health care reform bill and passing legislation to make gay marriage legal, I would choose Health Care reform.
A friend of mine sent this video to me and it completely suits my mood after the California court’s hateful decision yesterday. I was especially annoyed that the New York Times put the story about upholding of Prop. 8 way down at the bottom of their home page, in just a link.
