My Recent Experience With Bigotry

Every time you feel it’s safe to “go back in the water”, the “jaws of bigotry” remind us that we’ve got a ways to go. I’m referring specifically to an incident that happened last night at a local fast food restaurant near my mother’s home in Clearwater, FL. But the truth is that this incident could have happened anywhere in this country and many others. Even in NY where we feel we’re somewhat protected from old-fashion hate, you still hear of isolated incidents.

Hallmark movies are some of the best if you need to make yourself vomit in order to get over a bad case of spinning from accidentally getting too drunk on cheap brandy. They make pirated Lifetime movies look like the height of Oscar-worthiness. Hallmark movies make “Jersey Shore” episodes seem like a haute cultural experiences.

Talk about a song that makes you happy and sticks in your head. I know that those can be the worst kind but this one is worth it. Let’s just start off by saying that OLD in Dubai means 1980’s! Truthfully though Wikipedia states that written accounts document existence of the city for at least 150 years prior to when the U.A.E. was formed. So, yes, there are some old things there but I’m sure a lot of what I captured isn’t the oldest.
