My Attempt at Daily Photo Lifestreaming with Posterous

On any given day as I walk around New York, I snap photos of things I find interesting. Sometimes they are things I find interesting or noteworthy. A lot of times they are things that make me laugh. I really wanted to start recording this more or less daily activity online in some way, shape, or form. I don’t necessarily want everything on Facebook because I may not want it shared with everyone. I guess I could have chosen twitter and used twitpic or yfrog for my daily photo lifestreaming. What I decided to do is revive my Posterous account, which offers the perfect platform for photo and video blogging straight from the iPhone. In many ways, it’s the easiest blogging platform around because you simply e-mail your contents – photos, video, text, audio to the posterous e-mail address and it blogs it for you – posterous@posterous.com. It essentially recognizes the e-mail address you send your e-mail from and knows where to post it. You technically never need to start an account with posterous but it helps if you want to select a theme or some parameters around your blog. Continue reading

Interpol – Lights [Song of the Week]

Interpol‘s music generally has this effect on me. The first time I listen to a song, I’m often a bit underwhelmed but with subsequent listens, I discover the layers that this band seems to subliminally weave into each and every lyric, each and every riff. I got an e-mail last week from them telling me they were stirring and when I continued reading I noticed the gift of a free download of their new single “Lights”. This time I wasn’t underwhelmed. I loved “Lights” from the minute I heard it and continue to love it even more with every subsequent listen.

Don’t Be Jealous of My Boogie… The Final Version

Ru Paul’s Drag Race is our guilty pleasure. Pure entertainment from start to finish. The second season didn’t hold a candle to the first one. There was too much negativity but we enjoyed it nonetheless. By the their Facebook page, it seems that a lot of people are into the show, which I think is fantastic. Could we imagine a show as GAY as this being popular 10 years ago or even being on the air? That’s a big NO. The 3 final queens of this year teamed up with Ru to do a Dynasty-style version of Ru Paul’s “Don’t Be Jealous of My Boogie” complete with bitch fights and 80′s hair.
