The Healing of AmericaLiving and working in NYC I don’t often listen to the radio.  This week I’m house sitting and dog sitting in New Jersey for my partner’s cousin and her family. And today I had lunch with my aunt, uncle, and cousins on the Jersey Shore in Long Branch. When I do have an occasion to drive, it’s always tuned to NPR and I’m always pleased by the quality of coverage as I was today. On my way “home” to Edison NJ, I listened to Terry Gross interview Washington Post writer T.R. Reid about his new book The Healing of America: A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper, and Fairer Health Care.

Fight Ignorance… Get Off Your Ass and Do Something about Health Care

For me Health Care Reform is in fact more of a hot button issue than Gay Rights. I know that many of my fellow gay friends may disagree with me. But, in fact, if I had to choose between having a solid health care reform bill and passing legislation to make gay marriage legal, I would choose Health Care reform.

Little Fluffy Clouds in NYC

Adi told me about how great the skies looked in our neighborhood after one of the many rain-filled afternoons we’ve been having this summer in New York. These photos are taken from our terrace on June 26th. Enjoy these photos while listening to The Orb‘s “Little Fluffy Clouds”. These skies might not be as beautiful as the Arizona skies that Rickie Lee Jones is talking about in this classic 1991 track by the Orb. But they’re as close as we’ll get in NYC.
