Beware of US Airways’ “Choice Seats”

US Airways offers what they call “choice seats” for $15 extra. When I asked what was different about these seats I was told that they were closer to the front of the plane. I told them that I had never heard anything so ridiculous in my life. No extra leg room. No free beverage. Are they desperate or just an airline in 2009?
I’m now on the second leg if a flight to San Diego and I’m waiting at Sky Harbor in the plane for them to fix a maintenance problem. Already a 45 minute delay. Complain. Complain. Complain.
How quickly I forgot about the hero US Air pilot who safely landed a geese-filled plane in the Hudson!

I just faced the same thing. They want $10 bucks so I can sit next to my flight companion. Its not even about the money it just so tacky it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I’m all thumbs up for the outstanding actions of the pilots but as for the management team, who feel its acceptable to sick it to their customers AFTER they have already bought a ticket, all I can say is – very poor judgment.

I’ve also heard of a $9 fee for the possibility of getting a lower flight
change fee (just in case you change your flight) and then
there’s this story from an AA passenger Ridiculous.
